Maren I. Christensen, Monterey College of Law's Dean of Clinical Education, was recently
named the new Executive Director of the Mandell Gisnet Center for Conflict Management
(MGC). She assumes this role in addition to her responsibilities as Dean of Clinical Education.
Jackie Pierce, the previous director, retired in December.
Dean Christensen is a graduate of Berkeley Law and the University of Chicago. She
also has a master’s degree in international law and conflict resolution from The Fletcher
School at Tufts University. She has completed extensive mediation certification at
Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute. She was born and raised in Salinas, California,
and is bilingual in Spanish.
