THE MCL EXPERIENCE

Monterey College of Law is a community law school that provides the opportunity to live and work in the California central coast region while attending an evening law school program.

Founded in 1972 by prominent Monterey-area lawyers and judges, the College of Law is committed to providing a high quality, affordable, and challenging legal education. Our faculty of practicing attorneys and judges are known for their accessibility to students and commitment to teaching in small classes. They bring a much-needed practical dimension to the classroom that is often lacking in traditional legal education.

Our curriculum is designed to develop substantive knowledge and practical lawyering skills. Our professors come from public and private practice, for-profit and non-profit organizations, in-house law departments, and the judiciary . . .  creating a strong community network of potential employment opportunities for students and graduates. Many of the school's top students have received the opportunity to participate in judicial clerkships and internships with area courts.
