HONORABLE MAXINE M. CHESNEY
Judge of the United States District Court,
Northern District of California

Judge Maxine M. Chesney graduated from the University of California, Boalt Hall in 1967 and began her eleven year career in the Office of the San Francisco District Attorney. She was appointed to the San Francisco Municipal Court in 1979 by Governor Jerry Brown and to the Superior Court in 1983.

In 1995, President William Jefferson Clinton appointed her to the United States District Cout, Northern District of California. Judge Chesney has been a featured speaker in seminars through-out California for more than twenty-five years.

HONORABLE REBECCA WISEMAN

Associate Justice California Court of Appeal

Justice Rebecca Wiseman has served since 1995 as an Associate Justice on the Court of Appeal for the Fifth Appellate District located in Fresno, California, having previously served as a trial judge in KernCounty for ten years. She is a 1980 graduate of the University of California, Davis, LawSchool and received her LL.M., or Master’s Degree in Judicial Process, from the University of Virginia in 2001.

A frequent lecturer for the Rutter Group, Justice Wiseman is a co-author of their practice guide entitled Employment Litigation. Justice Wiseman is the past chair of the California Judges’ Foundation, lectures frequently on legal ethics, and is a past faculty member of the California Pacific School of Law, having instructed on pretrial strategy procedures in civil cases.

HONORABLE RICHARD M. SILVER (Ret.)

Judge Richard M. Silver served as a Monterey County Superior Court Judge from 1977 until his retirement from the bench in 2002. He is past Presiding Judge of the Court and has served by special assignment on the Court of Appeal. Judge Silver received his L.L.B. degree from the University of California, Boalt Hall in 1966.

He was a law partner of Francis Heisler and is one of the founders of Monterey College of Law, where he serves as a member emeritus of the Board of Trustees. Judge Silver is active with the NationalJudicialCollege, participates annually in the Heisler Moot Court Competition, and received the first honorary degree ever awarded from MCL in 1998.
